Jovani’s prom collection always has something for everyone, but after talking to our retailers and seeing everyone share their prom looks on social media, we have some definite favorite styles and trends that we can't get enough of!
Princess Ball Gowns and Layered Skirts
Ball gowns are a classic that we know and love, but this year there’s just something special about them! Our 2024 Jovani ball gowns feature sheer corsets, beautiful delicate beading and lace applique detailing. Our ball gowns come in all different necklines so you’ll find the perfect cut for you. The construction in our corset bodices will make you feel your best, and the tiered skirts are so much fun, adding volume and extra flair!
Cut Outs:
Cut outs have been trending for the past few seasons in all sectors of fashion, from sportswear to swimwear to eveningwear, so here at Jovani, we put our own twist on cut outs. In this collection, you'll spot some cutouts in jersey and scuba styles, detailed with beading and stones. We’ve been seeing more and more prints make their way onto celebrity red carpets and into fashion shows lately, including Jovani’s NYFW spring/summer fashion show that debuted in New York this past Fall. Prints are such a fun and special way to express yourself and make a statement at prom. In our prom 2024 collection, we’re confident that you'll find a print that speaks to you. You’ll find many A-line and ball gown dresses, and satin, chiffon, tulle, and organza styles in prints. Printed dresses are especially fun to accessorize with because you can choose jewelry, shoes, and a clutch that pulls out a certain color of your print.
Alterations:
Congrats! You found your dream dress and now the hard part is over! To make sure your dress fits like a glove, you may need to visit a seamstress for those final touches. A few things to remember…Make sure you choose your prom shoes prior to having your dress hemmed. This ensures the seamstress takes the height of your heel into account when hemming, which is crucial!
If you choose to wear shapewear with your dress, you should bring the undergarments to your fitting because that will likely affect the fit of your dress and it is important for the seamstress to see that. Make sure that you go to a trusted seamstress for such an important job. The boutique that sold you your dress may have an in house alterations team or can likely make a great recommendation for a trusted professional.
