 Prom Hair & Makeup Tips

You have your dress chosen from a beautiful prom dresses collection and now the hard part is over… but what about your hair and makeup? We’ve pulled two looks from jovani prom 2010 collection to give you some styling tips and suggestions.

Your prom is a magical time in your life, and with the right preparation, it is sure to be flawlessly memorable. Our collection offers a variety of hand-painted prints and patterns that are sure to stand out—so going more subtle on the makeup and hair will give you an easy, beautiful look. The prom dress below (Style #196583) is a flowy, halter gown with a colorful ombre-like pattern. The finely beaded necklace style halter leads in to the ruched bust and is truly the central focal point of the dress. Covering such an exquisite detail would simply take away from its beauty. Therefore, our professional stylists suggest having gently swept-up hair, maybe a few loose dangling pieces, and light earth-tone shades of makeup. To finish the look, apply a light pink, shimmery lip gloss, which can be carried with you throughout the night.

For solid colored prom dresses, you can dress up the simple look with dramatic makeup and loose, flowing hair. The strapless A-line prom gown pictured below (Style #152112) speaks utter elegance. With sparkling waterfall beading down the back and around the bust, the spotlight is sure to be on you. The strapless neckline allows for long, draping hair—maybe big and loosely curled or sleekly straight. With darker shade dresses, such as the pictured red and black, dark, smoky eyes and a darker lipstick will complete a look to die for.

Whether it’s just another formal gathering or your sister’s engagement party, our extensive evening dress collection is versatile to fit all functions and events. With black-tie gowns, having a more sophisticated hairstyle is preferred. Makeup can be more of a case-by-case decision, depending on what look you are going for. We’ve pulled two of our evening dresses to give you some of our professional styling suggestions.

The dark, mermaid style gown with a large bow embellishment draping down the bodice (Style #14369) should be worn with a tight, neat up-do in order to not take away from the bow and the form-fitting bodice. A light, shimmery white eye shadow, with a tad of smokiness, is recommended for this look, along with a nice dark lipstick to contrast the black.

Sophistication meets fun and playful in the look pictured below (Style #151395). A flowy, strapless chiffon prom dress in royal blue can be dressed with jewelry and other such accessories, or you can play up the fun look with loose, flowing hair and a light to dark blue shade of eye shadow. It’s a night to remember, why not make the most of it and your of your look. Your choice of a light lip-gloss or a dark lipstick shade can be worn with this look.
